Access to Digital Assets Agent Forms

Pursuant to the Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act, MCL 700.1001 et seq., if a user has not used an online tool to name a designated recipient to deal with a digital account, or the digital custodian does not provide an online tool, the user may allow or prohibit disclosure of the user’s digital assets (including content) in a will, trust, power of attorney, or other record. MCL 700.1004. With the transition of our world from conducting business at the local bank to online autopayments, it is important that you authorize your financial agents to access your online accounts.  If not, your financial agent may struggle to access your accounts when you are unable to do so.
