Living Wills

A living will is a legal document that you complete to explain your wishes related to healthcare. This document is relied upon by your patient advocates and physicians in the event that you are no longer able to make your own medical decisions. Typically a living will should be accompanied with Durable Powers of Attorney appointing a patient advocate to make healthcare decisions if you are incapacitated.
It is very important for you to communicate your wishes to your loved ones so they are not left guessing.  If you do not execute the proper documents, your loved ones will be forced to file a petition in the local probate court which could take weeks, maybe even months, to obtain the proper paperwork to make decisions on your behalf.
