Robert C. Wood is an associate attorney and has practiced law for many years. He is a member of the firm’s Insurance Law Group. Mr. Wood specializes in first party no-fault litigation and third party auto claims. He has many years of experience in handling matters in court in that he has drafted and answered discovery requests, drafted motions, attended court hearings, has taken various depositions of both lay witnesses and expert witnesses, and has handled all steps of the litigation process.

Bob Wood practices complex civil litigation involving the defense of insurance claims.. He represents insurance companies, generally defending them against the disputed claims of policyholders, or defending against claims made by third parties.. Most of his cases involve first party no-fault insurance personal protection insurance (PIP) benefits, and defense against motor vehicle accident claims made by third parties.

Prior to joining Willingham & Cote’, P.C., Bob worked at a plaintiffs’ firm for three years. During those years he litigated cases throughout Michigan. His history as a plaintiffs’ representative coupled with his defense work at Willingham & Coté, P.C. give him a thorough and unusual understanding of both sides of the litigation process.

Bob is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he received a B.A. in Accounting. He also graduated from Cooley Law School, where he was an Honors Scholarship Recipient.

Trial/Litigation Success

Bob has successfully litigated hundreds of cases in state and federal courts throughout Michigan. In many cases he has been granted a summary disposition on behalf of his client, meaning the case was so persuasive to the judge that it was dismissed from court prior to trial.

Legal Community Involvement

Bob is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association where he regularly attends events. He also has presented to pre-law students at Michigan State University about the intricacies of life in private practice.
