Our firm is pleased to announce that Mr. Joe Van Horn recently joined the firm and has a variety of experience in insurance defense, health care law, as well as corporate practice.
He has been involved in all phases of litigation, including trials and appellate practice. In addition to being admitted in Michigan state and federal courts, Mr. Van Horn has also previously practiced law in both Iowa and Colorado.
Mr. Van Horn primarily represents clients involved in medical malpractice defense and no-fault insurance defense. He also has a wide variety of experience with health care law, having advised a number of health care organizations as general counsel on complex health care statutes and topics. In representing physicians over his career, Mr. Van Horn has been involved not only in medical malpractice defense, but also medical practice formation and registration, licensing and disciplinary investigations, physician supervision rules, telemedicine, as well as health care reimbursement and compliance matters.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Van Horn was a law clerk for a number of state court judges in Des Moines, Iowa. He also spent a number of years primarily engaged in the defense of police offices in Denver, Colorado.
In his spare time, Mr. Van Horn enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys travel, annual camping with his family, and hiking.
