Firm Case Cited As Most Important Opinion
In the most recent edition of Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly, one of Willingham & Cote, PC’s cases was featured in “The Most Important Opinions” for January – June 2014.
Congratulations to attorneys Torree Breen, Kimberlee Hillock and John Yeager for their appellate success in Auto-Owners Ins Co v McGowan Trust, which was decided May 15, 2014. The Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s rulings that (a) the policy issued to the deceased father did not provide coverage to non-resident adult children without the insurer’s written consent, and (b) the children were not permitted to expand coverage beyond the terms of the policy as a result failing to prove notification to the insurer of their father’s death.
