Divorce in Michigan
Michigan is a no-fault divorce state. This means that a party need not prove fault to obtain a divorce in the State of Michigan. A judgment for divorce may only be granted if one of the parties has resided in the State of Michigan for 180 days prior to filing the complaint for divorce and must have been a resident of the county for 10 days immediately prior to filing in the county in which the complaint was filed. Our divorce attorneys have supported families in the East Lansing, Lansing and mid-Michigan area.
